It’s become a sensation with numerous viral videos showcasing the essence of this trend. For those who may have yet to catch a glimpse of these videos, here’s the lowdown: the clean look revolves around a minimalistic makeup routine, emphasizing clean and radiant skin, well-defined eyebrows, and sleek, polished hair.
Thankfully, achieving this ultra-polished aesthetic is well within your grasp with a few essentials from your makeup bag. Let’s delve into a step-by-step guide on how to effortlessly embrace the clean beauty trend that has taken over platforms like Instagram, YouTube, etc.
HOW TO ACHIEVE A CLEAN MAKEUP LOOK?

Begin by cleansing your face to remove impurities. Follow this with a hydrating moisturizer to nourish the skin and create a supple base. Top it off with lots of sunscreen. A good sunscreen will always protect your skin whether you are on vacation or staying at home. If needed, apply a primer to ensure your makeup adheres well and stays in place throughout the day.
Reach for light coverage:
The key to achieving a clean makeup look is to opt for a lightweight and breathable foundation or tinted moisturizer such as Maybelline Fit Me Fresh Tint, or Smashbox tinted moisturizer, and many more in other brands too. Focus on achieving an even skin tone without masking your natural complexion. Use a makeup sponge or brush to blend the product seamlessly into your skin, avoiding heavy coverage. If you like sun-kissed cheeks, a little bronzer never hurts.
Brighten you’re under eyes:
Under eye brightening is back! I love bright under-eyes. It immediately brings out brightness without making your whole face too light. A concealer is your secret weapon for brightening the under-eye area and hiding any signs of fatigue.
Tidy and clean hair:
This one is optional. A clean makeup look extends beyond the face. Ensure your hair is well-groomed and tidy. Tidy and sleek hair look is a game changer for a Clean Makeup Look. The quickest and most effective way to achieve slicked-back hair is by gently pulling it into a neat bun or high pony depending on your look.
Flushed cheeks:
My absolute favorite part of the whole Clean Makeup Look. Add a touch of color to your cheeks with a natural blush. Opt for soft, rosy hues that mimic a subtle flush. My favorites are Insight cream blushes, Myglamm lip and cheek tint, and Benefit tint. Smile and apply the blush to the apples of your cheeks and nose, blending it towards your temples for a radiant and healthy sun-kissed glow. Take out your cream blushes and cheek tints and have fun!
Polish your Eyebrows:
Well-groomed eyebrows frame the face and are essential for a clean makeup look. Ditch your eyebrow powders or pomades, Use a brow pencil to fill in any sparse areas and define the shape. Brush through your brows for a polished finish that complements the natural aesthetic. Use a brow gel mascara to set your brows in place.
Wing it out or smoked kohl:
Minimal yet impactful! Go with either baby wings or smoked-out kohl, both are so forgiving and elegant at the same time. My personal choice would be a baby wing, extended from the inner corner of the eyes. STUNNING!!!!!! Go with earthy tones for any smoked-out look and bring out your KAJOL, KAREENA, OR RANI MUKHERJEE VIBES.
Natural volume to lashes:
Curl your lashes to open up your eyes, and then apply a coat of mascara for a natural voluminous look. Avoid heavy layers that may clump, sticking to a few coats for a fluttery effect.
PRO TIP: Pick a mascara with a thin wand to add natural volume to the lashes without making it clumpy or artificial.
Perfect those natural lips:
Your lips but better! To go for a minimalist clean makeup look, choose your best lip tints, and lip balms to the rescue. While giving a flush of color, It will even nourish your lips. For that opaque color, go for either matte or creamy lipsticks and top it off with some non-sticky, buttery glosses or lip oils. 🙂

Smell Pleasant:
Completing your clean makeup look involves ensuring you smell as fresh as you look. Choose a light and subtle fragrance that enhances your overall aura without overpowering the senses. It’s okay to spray that lightly on your hair too. 😀
