Yoga Secrets to Radiant Skin: Glow from the Inside Out!

Who said beauty only comes from Makeup and Skincare? I am here to burst all your myths about that. Practising Yoga for almost 5 years I learned so much about wellness which leads to healthy and beautiful skin. For flawless makeup, you need a healthy and radiant skin canvas. Do you agree with that?

Yoga is not just a physical exercise for me, it’s a holistic approach to health and well-being. Beyond its numerous health benefits, yoga also holds the secret to enhancing one’s natural beauty. By incorporating certain yoga poses into your routine, you can unlock a radiant and glowing appearance. Let’s delve into some specific asanas and their beauty benefits, along with step-by-step instructions for beginners.

1. Padhastasana (Hand under Foot Pose):

yoga

Pada means feet; hasta means hands. Therefore, Padahastasana means keeping the palms down towards the feet. It means hand-to-foot pose. Padhastasana improves blood circulation to the face, promoting a healthy glow. It also stimulates hair follicles, promoting hair growth and reducing hair fall.

   Steps to Perform:

  • Stand with feet hip-width apart.
  • Inhale deeply and raise your arms overhead.
  • Exhale and bend forward from the hips, reaching your hands towards the ground.
  • Slide your hands under your feet with palms facing up.
  • Hold the pose for 30-60 seconds while breathing deeply.
  • To release, exhale as you gently release your hands and straighten up.

2. Sarvangasana and Halasana/Plough Pose (Shoulder Stand):

yoga

These inverted poses increase blood flow to the face, reducing puffiness and dark circles. Sarvangasana helps in battling skin conditions like facial dullness, acne, and wrinkles. They also stimulate the thyroid gland, regulating metabolism and promoting healthy skin. Halasana aids sleep and combats insomnia benefiting skin health.

   Steps to Perform:

  • Lie flat on your back with arms by your sides.
  • Inhale and lift your legs and hips off the ground, supporting your lower back with your hands.
  • Straighten your legs upward, keeping them in line with your torso.
  • Hold the pose for 30-60 seconds, breathing deeply.
  • To transition to Halasana, lower your legs overhead, bringing your feet to the ground behind your head.
  • Hold for another 30-60 seconds, then slowly roll out of the pose.

3. Dhanurasana (Bow Pose):

yoga

Dhanurasana stretches the neck and throat, reducing the double chin and toning facial muscles. It also improves digestion, leading to clearer skin. This pose puts pressure on the abdominal region and helps in detoxifying the body. Dhanurasana works well in bringing a natural glow to your skin. That’s why I call it a substitute for beauty facials.

   Steps to Perform:

  • Lie on your stomach with arms by your sides.
  • Bend your knees and reach back to hold your ankles with your hands.
  • Inhale and lift your chest and thighs off the ground, creating a bow shape.
  • Hold the pose for 20-30 seconds, breathing deeply.
  • Exhale as you release the pose and lower your body back to the ground.

4. Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward-Facing Dog):

Who all are ready to save their money on the blushes? I have a permanent solution to that. Adho Mukha Svanasana increases blood flow to the face, reducing acne and promoting a natural blush. It also relieves tension in the neck and shoulders, preventing wrinkles.

   Steps to Perform:

  • Start on your hands and knees with wrists under shoulders and knees under hips.
  • Exhale as you lift your hips towards the ceiling, straightening your legs and arms.
  • Press your hands firmly into the ground and lengthen your spine.
  • Hold the pose for 30-60 seconds while breathing deeply.
  • To release, exhale as you lower your knees to the ground.

5. Paschimottanasana (Seated Forward Bend):

Paschimottanasana calms the mind and reduces stress, preventing premature aging. It also stimulates the ovaries and uterus, balancing hormones for healthy skin. It’s a perfect asana for glowing skin care. This asana helps in the removal of acne and pimples. It also purifies the blood, improves skin complexion, and reduces the appearance of dark spots and wrinkles.

   Steps to Perform:

  • Sit with your legs extended in front of you and your spine tall.
  • Inhale deeply and raise your arms overhead.
  • Exhale as you bend forward from the hips, reaching towards your feet.
  • Hold onto your feet, ankles, or shins, keeping your spine long.
  • Hold the pose for 30-60 seconds, breathing deeply.
  • To release, inhale as you slowly lift your torso back up.

6. Matsyasana (Fish Pose):

This heart-opening pose stretches the chest and throat, improving posture and breathing. It stimulates the thyroid gland, boosting metabolism and promoting healthy skin and hair. Matsyasana is one of the best yoga poses to attain fresh and even-toned skin as it improves blood circulation in the head region.

Steps to perform:

  • Lie on your back, with your legs extended and arms by your sides.
  • Slide your hands under your buttocks, palms facing down.
  • Press into your forearms and lift your chest towards the ceiling.
  • Hold the pose for 30-60 seconds, breathing deeply.

7. Shishuasana (Child Pose):

This resting pose relaxes the body and mind, reducing stress and promoting better sleep. It gently stretches the spine and hips, relieving tension in the back and shoulders. Shishuasana helps in providing better sleep, resulting in glowing and healthy skin.

Steps to perform:

  • Kneel on the mat, sit back on your heels, and fold forward, resting your forehead on the ground.
  • Extend your arms forward or relax them by your sides.
  • Hold the pose for 1-3 minutes, focusing on deep belly breaths.

Incorporating these yoga poses into your daily routine can enhance your natural beauty from the inside out. Remember to listen to your body and never push yourself beyond your limits. With regular practice and mindfulness, you can unlock the radiant beauty that lies within you.

Beautyspade recommend you do these yoga practices under some supervision if you are a beginner.
